Captain Helly Juell Hansen founded Helly Hansen in 1877 to provide seafarers with better protection against the harsh Norwegian climate. In the 140 years that have followed, Helly Hansen have grown to become a favourite among skiers, competitive sailors and mountaineers as well as becoming one of Scandinavia's biggest workwear brands.
